Mr. C,

Your patience amazes me--I'd be climbing the walls and raising heck. The situation does not seem possible, particularly with a company like Ford. Given the amount of time this has taken I would think that Ford would be giving you a break on the price.

As yours is an older Connect, I wonder if the problem is that the previous assembly point was Turkey and maybe the new assembly does not include parts for the older vehicles???

Whatever the case, I wish you luck with this and look forward to seeing some resolution.

I figured the doors were made of super unobtanium. I just talked with my guy at the body shop and the doors were ordered July 13. The van is still driveable so that is a good thing. It just looks like hell.

Crystal - incoming! Thanks again!

I'm shocked, how long should you wait to get the door!

The doors showed up last week. Just have to wait until they get the transmission squared away to get it over to the body shop

Good to hear that the doors finally arrived. The best of luck in getting the rig back on the road. I admire your patience and perseverance.

Van is at the body shop now. The door we were waiting on had some blemishes that they had to straighten out but Ford will reimburse them for the labor.

Should go in to paint soon and then we will get the decals put back on the side.

On a side note, the torque converter and valve body was recently replaced on the van.

All done. We picked up the van on Friday after they finished paint and got the decals put back on it. Total repair bill was around $7,500 with replacing the company decals.

Mr. C;

You have dropped a lot of gold on this vehicle and I hope it will work out to your expectations. But I also wonder.

Did you buy this vehicle new? Is insurance covering the cost? When I consider the cost I have to wonder, as much as like the van, whether the vehicle is worth saving???

The vehicle was purchased new. Insurance paid for the repairs as the other driver was 100% at fault.

Why wouldn't it be worth repairing?

I have no idea how many miles you have on the vehicle and as a 2012 it seemed to me that the mileage might be beyond what I would want to spend in repairs. Also, if the gold was coming from my pocket I would want to consider other possible options for wheels. Given that you bought the vehicle new and that the repairs were covered by insurance it seems to me that you know what you are doing and had the patience to work it through. Congratulations.
