Continental Van Co Winter II would work. I just called Tire Rack and asked, as I'm sure I'll get this questions from my folks.

I bought a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta C3 studded snows for last winter (was a really bad one up here) and they were awesome. Traction was great, not too much noise from the tread or the studs. An all around great winter tire.

Those Nokians must be a "p" rated tire. My buddy's van is loaded w plumbing equipment and he needs D or E rated.. Theres just about nothing out there in the specified size besides the anemic looking contintntal tire mentioned above.. Even when manipulating the numbers the yeild is negligible..

Nokian uses the Euro-Metric rating system - these are commercial vehicle/van tires with a rating of 121/119. With a max load of 3200 lbs that would put it at a higher level than an E rated tire.

I had posted a reply but it is not showing. Anyway, I double checked the sidewalls of those Nokian tires - they have load range F listed on the sidewall. The Euro rating is 121/119 and the website lists the size for the Transit as having a max load of 3200 lbs. I know they are 10 ply commercial tires, and they definitely were not cheap - I paid over $800.00 for the set! Hope this helps your friend in his search.
