Howdy! The time has come for me to replace the Toyo Open Country 35 x 12.50 tires that came on my F350 when I bought it used a few months back. I've gotten used to the stance the truck has with this size tire, but wanted something a little more highway friendly.
I'm looking at the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac in the LT325/65R18 size.
I wouldn't really call those highway friendly but I do like the way they look. They look like a good off highway tire but not snow seeing they would clean themselves pretty good, but in CA that's probably not a worry. The load carrying capacity is pretty good for a tire that only uses 65#.
I'm thinking highway friendly doesn't have to be a total highway tire. Just quiet and comfortable on the highway, but can still take a trail now and then.
The duratrac is highway friendly. I love mine. It will take a few thousand miles for them to break in and stiffen up a bit. Hands down best tire I've had on this truck
I had the duratracs on my 2012 wrangler, I had a little over 40,000 on them, they handled great in the snow and off road. Quiet on road too.
I might get a set for the pick up when the time comes.
You wont be disappointed.
Best tires I ever ran I bought for my 2002 24v Cummins I sold in the summer.
Nitto Dura Grapplers with the Dura Belt. Amazing mileage, whisper quiet, very stable for towing my 5th wheel, and they looked very aggressive for a street tire.
