Heheh, back on track now after that weather report.
Good news is the storm passed over and even better new is nothing underneath the truck looks out of the ordinary. Tape measure on both wheels shows guards at same distance from ground. I'd say it has bedded itself down and coupled with a slightly skewiff angle contributed to my mini panic. Cannot possibly be anything else.
I am going to turn the truck around tomorrow and take another shot.
Thanks for all your ideas, guys. I think we can fairly safely say proceed as normal...

To verify, turn wheels straight (roll back and forth a couple time to verify they are straight ahead) and measure the wheelbase on each side.

Sure makes for a pretty picture though.

Well....I dunno. Everything measures up okay. That is, they are even both sides.
It has dropped some, but I don't actually mind it a bit lower.
Final picture. Sorry to pester you guys. Just a momentary lapse into a minor panic, as it is nearing registration with each passing day.
Air conditioning going in tomorrow. Then a final check over and the engineer to inspect the old girl after that...

Perhaps just installed a half inch forward of center? As long as they are even side to side with no tire interference with fenders you should be good for many years. Good luck with the inspection.

Hi Will. I don't trust my own welding skills, so I had a professional welder do the welding for me. Between the two of us we nutted it out. We basically aligned it with the previous Mustang II front end that was in there, as it appeared to be "about right". I think we lucked it out a bit as the engine just fell beautifully in place and everything bolted up nicely.
I would not say it was a difficult job. If I decided to do another one, I would probably have a crack at it myself.
