gasoline in the fuel tank please help

I have a 2005 powerstroke that will not start. It will halfway run in the crank position but dies when I release the key.

The truck got filled with gasoline but not started. Drained the gas and put fuel in but now will not run. No clue what to do now.

Pull the filters and let that drain out also.
Put fresh filters in and some additives.
I forget what one is the best. Your looking
for a diesel fuel lubricity additive. Diesel clean
may of been the one.

Read this thread and look for the one from M-CHAN68.
He knows his stuff. If he says to do something you can bet it correct.

Also the search tool at the top of the
forum is your friend. Use the drop-down in the blue bar
and advanced search option.

BTW if you exit your first post and then go to "Go Advanced" You get the option to
edit the topic if you need to change of edit the subject line. You might get faster answers
if you use something like this"Help I Got Gasoline In My Diesel And Now Won't Start"

Yell if you need more help

Just being logical, it's unlikely something else failed at the same time it was misfueled. If it wasn't cranked or started while the gas was in it, it should have mostly drained but unless you disconnected the fuel lines at the HCFM and blew air through them, they likely still had a bit of gas in them and it's now causing issues. Best practice would be to drain and blow out the lines again and refill with diesel, or you could continue cranking in an effort to purge the rest of the gasoline. Give the batteries a rest often and keep a charger on them. Low system voltage is bad for the FICM.

Another option may be to disconnect a fuel line at the upper filter housing and put a piece of hose from there to a bucket. Flipping the key on will cause the fuel pump to run for a few seconds and you could inspect the fuel in the bucket for gasoline odor. Be careful and wear eye protection as fuel pressure is around 60psi. Possibly some gas was left in the tank.
