Test drove a 6.0 today

Test drove a 05 6speed 6.0 today. It only had 99,000 miles. The truck had some good acceleration and everything looked good. I really liked it but it seemed to loose power between 3 and 4th. As the engine was revving up it almost seemed to loose all power . I was stepping on it kinda hard. Just wondering if this is a comimon problem? How expensive is a new clutch? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gilbert

That's kind of an odd problem, and there aren't too many manual transmissions out there unfortunately. If the truck feels strong in all other gears then my bet would be the boost and fueling aren't matching up.

Well, if everything checks out, and you need a s sounds like a pretty rare opportunity. Shifting manual transmission, would be hard not to loose boost, between shifts so I think it really depends on what is happening with boost. With those low Miles, no doubt it needs a turbo unison ring clean and lube, I would also count on some other maintenance, fuel and oil filters, blue spring upgrade, check batteries, alternator ect ect.
