Grab a magnet and fish it out. Hopefully it did not made its way into any cylinder

Highly doubtful it fell into a cylinder.

If you can't see it, that that intake off. You'll find it.

Hmmmmm, been through this with mine, and with Thomas' at RRE. There are some nooks and crannys down in there. Likely it is down on top of a valve. The problem is..... some of those engine bolts are stainless.. (cant pick up with a magnet) Like someone already said, remove that plenum... If all else fails, you can always turn the truck upside down and shake it......Good luck!

the bolt i dropped was metal steel, it was one of the fuel bowl mounting bolts, i dont want to remove the turbo to pull the intake off

Pulling that turbo is a whole lot easier than pulling that head or a motor because of that bolt... I'm sure you know that though.

Yea.. It's a bitch, but sometimes your projects go that way.

The turbo isn't really all that bad (if you have the right tools.)

I'm sure you'll stuff some rags in those holes next time though.

Did you SEE it ..........for sure 100%

I did the same thing last year ...Thought I dropped it in there. Yes I know that feeling!!

Get a bright light and look under the pump, turbo area and any nook that you see, then take an air hose and blow softly to start with...It can hide with a little oil, sitting just right that it will be almost impossible to see to start with

Good Luck

William, i used something better than rags when i got the little ******* out! I put duct tape over the intake holes!

It took me 2 hours to fish it out! I wound up using the head of an extendable magnet, taped it onto a flexible extractor and got it out!

Theres the pesky little *******

Major "WHEW"!

So did you have to use the borescope to locate it, or did you just sorta let the magnet nose around in there?

Yes sir i used the bore scope to locate it and bring it out, i pulled the bore scope and my "make shift" flexible magnet out at the same time just incase it fell again i knew where it went
