Hmmmmm, been through this with mine, and with Thomas' at RRE. There are some nooks and crannys down in there. Likely it is down on top of a valve. The problem is..... some of those engine bolts are stainless.. (cant pick up with a magnet) Like someone already said, remove that plenum... If all else fails, you can always turn the truck upside down and shake it......Good luck!

Yea.. It's a bitch, but sometimes your projects go that way.
The turbo isn't really all that bad (if you have the right tools.)
I'm sure you'll stuff some rags in those holes next time though.

Did you SEE it ..........for sure 100%
I did the same thing last year ...Thought I dropped it in there. Yes I know that feeling!!
Get a bright light and look under the pump, turbo area and any nook that you see, then take an air hose and blow softly to start with...It can hide with a little oil, sitting just right that it will be almost impossible to see to start with
Good Luck

Pulling that turbo is a whole lot easier than pulling that head or a motor because of that bolt... I'm sure you know that though.

It took me 2 hours to fish it out! I wound up using the head of an extendable magnet, taped it onto a flexible extractor and got it out!
Theres the pesky little *******
