Question of the Week: Which engine in the 700hp Shelby F150?

The new Shelby F150 will make its grand debut next week at SEMA and while we know that it will pack 700 horsepower, no other details have been offered.

For our Question of the Week, we want to know which engine you think Shelby should use, and which engine do you think that they will use? Tell us in the thread below!

Listening to the sound in this video, I'm not convinced that it has an ecoboost in it.

The engine is shown in the video. No need to guess any more.

By the way, Shelby would have never done this truck if he was alive. This is just a tuner truck and that's not what he was about.

I saw the blue cover over the engine but I couldn't make out which engine it is.

HMMM strange? We have a special engine here in Windsor sitting at Essex Engine Plant, seems to look just like our 5.0 only it has the turbos and it's rated at 700 Hp. Very sweet looking engine. Rumor was it's a 2018. Just guessing of course...

That isn't a cover, that is the supercharger housing.
Looks like a 5.0 to me. You can hear the supercharger whine all throughout the video.

I know I work at EEP & that engine is scheduled to go into stock F 150's in 2018 as an eco boost option. We're currently experimenting with a new type of spray welded piston bore. There's a You Tube video posted by Ford on this new process & we are the only Engine Plant that will be doing it. This process has a major improvement in engine longevity allowing for better fuel economy &, it's extremely durable compared to the current sleeves. This is going to be a very exciting to drive, personally I can't wait.

Plus it says "Supercharged" in the title. Doing the math,I'm betting that it's a supercharged 5L.

A little more information ---
Carroll Shelby has been all about whatever put the most money in his wallet.
He put his name on a turbocharged Dodge Omni GLH in 1986..
He charged money for his autographs and claimed that all the proceeds went to charity. The charity was the Carroll Shelby Foundation - by which he profitted.. I won't say anything else about him in a negative light. Carroll was an icon in the automotive world and laid claim to some of the most audacious and top performing cars in the world. A couple of which I am extremely familiar.

Taking a look at this truck - my money is on a new 5.0 with the wheezer and dirrct port injection. It looks like a Shelby Mustang on steroids!

Whats that button to the right of the hazard button? I thought that was the auto stop/start button that only comes with the 2.7 EB?

It makes perfect sense if the guy next to you has 650 Hp.

The hazard button is on the center stack... left button is traction control off, then hazards, then 360 camera.

IT should be an SC 5.0, as that's an easy number to acheive. 700HP would pretty much be on the edge for an Ecoboost.
