2003 f250 SC LB Build Thread.

Hey everyone I figured I would start a build thread for my truck to kind of track my progress and maybe get advice or suggestions. Lets start with this truck was my first vehicle I bought it for $1900 in 2009 when I was 18 it had 280k on it. It was my dads old company vehicle and I got a good deal on it rather than them trading it in on the new one. It is an extended cab long bed with the 5.4. I drove it pretty much stock for a couple years thru college then once I got a real job decided I wanted to build it and make it my own. I had put a 3" body lift and 2" leveling kit on it and had a bunch of parts ready to throw on. the motor ended up blowing a head gasket and threw a rod thru the block at 350k. at that point it was pretty much a yard decoration until around February this year I got a better job and moved from Georgia to Florida and decided to jump back into it and couldn't be happier. I bought another 5.4 motor with 100k on it and got it in. Then my dad did all the body work and paint on the truck. I went with race red instead of the stock vermillion. I drove back up to Georgia last week to pick it up. So far Ive installed new rear bumper pads, Fender flares, recon led cab lights, led brake lights and third brake, rbp tailgate net ( my gate wasn't salvageable) eventually want 08+, 07 Harley headlights, deezee bed rails, toolbox, 08+ mirrors, 08-10 fender badge (painted grill black), rbp replica grill, 20x9 ballistic jesters wrapped in 35x12.50 thunderer mts ( got a killer deal on these couldn't not try them), I also have a kenwood head unit with 2 kicker 10" pro comps in a custom rhino lined box under the back seat, I got rid of the bench seat and put lariat bucket seats in it. Ive also purchased a 99 f350 donor truck because the only downfall of my truck is its a 2wd. I plan on doing the swap but gotta buy the wife a new car before I can get into that. I also have thule rails and roof basket for my spare I still need to install as well as a light bar.

Looks like solid progress.

How come the leaf spring 4x4 conversion instead of using the 05+ with coil springs? The wheel offset on the 05+ would be different though.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what that bar is underneath my bumper. it was behind the bumper before i did the bodylift. is that something only on 2wd trucks? also can it be removed(what i really mean is it safe to remove)? it seems like its whats holding each side of the frame together

I believe that is called the crash bar. I don't think it should be removed, but someone else may be able to comment better on that.

Also known as the Miata bar, it is designed to keep small cars from going under the truck during a collision.

Well guys after a couple days of driving it i decided i dont like the basket look on the ext. cab. tbh i really didnt like it when i put it on but thought it would wear on me so anyways its coming back off and being sold. i guess now im gonna try to fabricate some kind of bracket to attach to the bed or possibly a swing gate? in the meantime ive sold my old mirrors and wheels. still cant figure out what is causing all these lean codes and no idle.

I think the basket would look nice with an LED light bar on the front and some cubes on the sides and rear.

Lean codes and no idle...... hmmmmm... there are thoughts that come to my mind...
Idle codes would lead me to IAC valve...
How new is the fuel filter?
Have the injectors been removed and cleaned?
Is the fuel pump shot?

What codes are you getting?
