Well now I have an itch to build a box for the back of my excursion. I have been toying with the idea. I will make a build thead if I remember to take pictures I am no cabinet maker but hopefully mine might spark someone else to try it. Wish me luck I just hope that mine turns out half as nice as yours.

That really is nicely done. Looks good too, so good I'd be worried about damaging the top of the stained wood surface.

I wonder how well it would look with colored bed liner stuff instead of the stained lacquer finish.

I have a Nifty Catch All rear cargoliner that sits on top of it.

It folds around the perimeter a little but I'm not willing to trim it so of I need to pull the box I will still have excellent carpet protection.

I'll post a pic soon.

Thats exactly the box (and dimensions are nearly spot on!) that I have drawn up several times to replace my 11*11*46 that open top box I brought over from my expedition, just need to put the plans in place.

Any guesses on how much it weighs?

You have a 4th row seat?

I'm guessing 45 pounds or so?

I have a "Little Passenger Seat" from our old 04 Denali. It is leather matched to it but is close the the EX. It gets used a couple times a year.

In the denali they face forward, the one built for the EX is designed to face rearward as to not allow the forth row passengers to "unlock" the 3rd seat.

We have it facing forward when it's used.
