Power steering

I need a power steering pump cap/dipstick for my 1995 PSD

Is there any difference between any power steering pumps on any of the PSD and gas trucks and year models

Got to drive it 40 miles just to try to find something that will fit

I believe they are the same. I've lost a couple but I never hear of anybody else losing them? Have you looked way down in there to see if its laying somewhere. I found a couple of them that way. Now I just put a dab of goop on the edge of the cap to help keep it on, it peels right off if you need to check or add fluid.

I took the flash light out there just now and saw what seems to be melted burnt plastic on the exhaust manifold in the narrow space between the manifold and the steering column.

Just where do any of you get a replacement, I hate to drive it with it open and low on fluid

For the trip to the store, put a piece of aluminum foil over the opening, secure with a twist-tie or zip-tie. FWIW, I left the cap off, sitting on the battery, drove it aprx 100 miles, and the level wasn't even a mm lower (and the cap was still there....).

You bought ATF, right? Because that's what it uses.

Yes I got a qt. of ATF for a Ford.

I bet it did not take 2 oz. to put it 1/4 inch above the full mark on the cold side of the new dipstick

You Guys are one awesome bunch

for future reference, my '84 f-150 gasses (302) uses the same pump and cap as my 96 PSD. I think Ford only used one type of pump ergo the same cap fits all. I could be wrong but the two on my trucks are the same (with exception of the pulley...)
