weird radio problem

just bought this truck last week.. the radio worked fine. i took it apart to secure the radio the the mounting bracket better. when i hooked it back up i tuned to 94.1, local sports talk radio. it had a lot of static, and the signal was up and down, strength wise. but if i tuned to 104.5 a music station...it comes in very clear with little to no static. i didn't unplug the radio or the antenna when i secured it to the housing better. any ideas?
thanks
chris

My bet would be a loose antenna connection at the back of the radio.
