Tip on rear f1 cab mount(snubber)

For anyone that may have F1 cab supports in there future, I may have a tip to make installing the rear arm and rubber snubber easier. After three days of trying to get the rear support arm bolts to line up with the new rubber snubber in place, I found that by using a bottle jack (to lift the arm) while using a floor jack (to lift the cab) to relieve the tension on the arm worked like a charm. Pic below. While lieing under the truck I was able to work the floor jack with my foot while working the bottle jack with my hand, It was quite easy to get the holes to line up. Hopefully this may aid someone else in the future.

Hi Ax, how would I go about doing that, do threads have ID #s or something?

Nice job Jimmy...looks like it would work equally well with a 53-56 F100.

Thank you Ross. I knew what Ax meant , I just couldn't transfer this thread over to it. I don't mind re writing another version of the thread on the Sticky to help someone in the future, but Ill have to do it in a day or so. Tomorrow my Mom turns 90 years old so Im tied up trying to make it a good one for her. So that's what ill do, write another version on the sticky, thanks again.

You could just link to your first post, and paste that in the Tips thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post15738116

Just had my mother's 90th birthday party, good luck with yours!

Great tip Jimmy, I tried to give you a green thingy but it says I can't until I spread them around a bit.
