1997 Ford F 350 XL 5.8 gas engine
Long bed
twin tanks not sure of gallons they hold.



Both tanks worked, then front stopped
Used truck seldom and operating rear tank was was Ok for short hauls.
But now using truck often too tow a boat and want both tanks working

This is what I have done so far

Did not drop tank
Bed of truck floor in the area over fuel tank was rusted.
Cut open further. ( Once completed will lay diamond plate)
Easy access too pump
Removed old fuel that smelled bad
Old pump was trashed
Float was gone, wiring all apart.
Drained old fuel, cleaning tank with rag found all parts from fuel pump


Calling a few parts houses, Spectra direct , Amazon, Ebay, Rock auto , all saying nothing for that year ???? Find that hard too believe
Pump available sold separate
float sold separate,

Has two fuel lines.
Since unit was trashed, which was original when truck came from Ford, wanted too replace entire assembly
After market mfg have them easily purchased up too 1996 not 97 ?
Around $ 130.00
Has anybody run into same problem ?
Aftermarket part number ??


When I removed grey fuel line from pump I forced not realizing I needed a special tool.
I have it back on held with the safety lock that Ford installed .
A little piece of metal came out , that possibly locked hose , is that item sold separate. Not eager too change fuel line.
Have been using truck with old pump in tank, wiring disconnected , clamp holding in place fuel line, but once off fuel was removed fuel comes from rear tank ?
