ford l8000 fuller transmission conversion
Hi. Looking at buying a 1990 ford l8000 with a 7.8l diesel and an allison automatic transmission. Not a very big fan of allison's. Only reason I'm considering this truck is it has 76.000 miles and it's cheap. Was wondering what it would take to convert this truck to a manual transmission. Fuller 9. 10. Or 13 speed. Or if it's possible to bolt a eaton fuller up to the 7.8l ?. any information is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to FTE.
Not sure you're going to get much of an answer here.
I think that will be an expensive and time consuming conversion, and IMO if you don't like the truck as equipped, pass on it and buy what you want.
You will be buying things piecemeal at greater expense, or you will be buying another truck as a donor anyway.
I take it you are in a business that needs a truck, and not in the fiddling with trucks business......
