I am still around, still asking dumb questions
Work hasn't killed me yet, neither has the misses...so that is good.
Was filling up a shopping cart to spend some of this OT/Promotion $$$...and to prepare for winter when I thought I would gather some opinions from fellow FTE folks.
First off, just got a set of new glow plugs and a cool shirt from Clay at Riffraff...should I go ahead order some valve cover gaskets and wiring harness to be on the safe side? What has been y'alls experience (don't wanna throw $$ away, but don't like tearing things apart without having everything to put it back together either)
Secondly I have noted on here in the past my disappointment in learning I had bought a truck with an open rear diff.. Well I am about to fix that..solution Detriot Truetrac...haven't heard anything but good..so.. Here is my question ...Master Installation kit..will I need this? How about just replacing the bearings. Link below is a Master Installation kit..reference only..
G2 Axle and Gear - Ford 10.25in. Master Installation Kit | 4WheelParts.com
Also I had considered changing the gear ratio I have a 3:55 in my truck but considered the 4:10...how much fuel mileage will I lose, this is my daily driver.....and the 3:55 has pulled anything I have put behind it...
Anyone on here actually installed a Truetrac? Still considering the pros/cons of doing it myself..mainly the cons are time/experience...pros $$$ saved vs. knowledgeable installer..
BF Goodrich AT KO2 a new set of shoes for truck..finally... These are what I am leaning towards...did like the Treadwright Warden B2B but still sketchy on those...BF Goodrich seems like the safer choice since I will be hauling the family around. Thoughts?
Thanks ..sure I am forgetting something...
