On a 1948 F-1 does the VIN indicate what the original color of the truck was? Thanks

 

Color codes were never part of the serial number, or VIN. For '48, the only info in the serial number is the year, engine, series, and consecutive unit number.

You may find a series of numbers and letters stamped directly into the firewall that may contain codes for color, assembly plant, build date, etc. If you find them, post them here and we can help decode.
