oddball transfer case

hi. it's been awhile since i posted here, but i ended up picking up an oddball truck... body is from a 1977 f250 diesel, but the drivetrane is half ton. i am trying to figure out what transfer case it has as it is not a np203 or 205. it only has 2 settings, 4wd and 2wd. no high or low range. it has the 300 i6 (or 240 possibly, but looks like a 300) and 4 speed granny tranny. the chassis is basically a mystery as far as year but appears to be a ford 9 and dana 44.

No diesel engine in F250/350 until 1983. Last year for the 240 I-6 was 1974.

1966/76 F100 4WD's have coil spring front suspension as do 1975 and later F150 4WD's except 1978/79 F150 4WD Super Cabs.

Could be a Dana 21. Single speed job used by Ford '62-'73, so says this sometimes questionable source:

A 70s body will more or less drop onto a 67-72 chassis, the F100 4x4 of that era got the D21 single speed. I don't think there was a low range option in the F100, but with the NP435 there was a good creeper gear.
