PLEASE HELP! what is this small black box behind my seat???
i just bought a truck. it has a small, black box behind the seat, approximately 2" by 4". it was screwed down with 2 screws. it has 4 wires coming out of it.All it says on it is Caution: high voltage. the 2 "out" wires are green and white. and the 2 "in wires are red and black(ground). what the heck is this box?

Ok first do the green and white wires go to anything? If so what? Does it look like it is Ford original equipment or after market?
My best guess is that it is a 12 VDC to 120 VDC power converter for something like a old cell phone or some other lo amperage accessory.

it looks factory. but it does have a made in china sticker on the back. the two out wires, i just realized they run back to the rear of the truck, but then stop. this truck does have an alarm, but it is not hooked up. there are all kinds of wierd wires running everywhere on this truck, and i dont know what is what. it does say 12V on the box where the "in" wires enter. thanx for your help!

Sounds to me like it is a transformer for "strobes" like they have on police cars. That is usually where I have mounted the transformer when I have done trucks before. Is there any "unknown" toggle switches around on the dash or anything?
