He bought the truck last week. 2001 F250 v10. Half hour test drive and 45 minute drive home were good. Started misfiring last weekend. He changed plugs since the PO didn't know when they were last changed. 92000 on the clock. He found 1 broken off COP bolt, and 1 broken COP ear. He swapped the "good" COP to the cylinder with the good bolt. Still can't extract the broken bolt, but has that COP secured in place. It has the rough running under 2000 rpm. His next steps are going to clean MAF, throttle body, and inspect for loose connections. COPs are a little pricey, so he purchased 1 to troubleshoot.
I think getting that broken bolt out is a must, just to get everything where it should be. He tried an extraction bit with no luck.

Thanks for the info 77mud. He ended up getting out of work late and didn't make it over there. Someone in his unit recommended another shop too and had a more thorough diagnostic ran on it which showed misfire on cylinders 2,4,8 & 10. The swapped COPs around and the codes stayed on the same cylinders. So they quoted him $1200 for new injectors.

Sounds like he's on the right track, checking and changing out spark plugs. I have a good spark tester that will test those COP's (Coil on Plug). If he could get his hands on one that could be less money that replacing those COP's.
Another thing that wouldn't hurt is a bottle of good injector cleaner. I like anything that is by Lucas.
I really wouldn't think that it needs every injector replaced. Somebody that is really good with a quality scan tool, could be a lot of help. There's so many different sensors and crap, a good diagnostic scan is the way to go.
Cleaning the MAF sensor like you mentioned sure couldn't hurt.
A wiggle test of vacuum lines and wires never hurt anybody either.

I missed the part about he had already changed plugs. I'd definitely run some Lucas fuel system cleaner, or some seafoam threw it.
If he gets a chance I'd be willing to bet Greg Sanderson would beat that price for the injectors and he had a very high dollar mac daddy laptop that monitors live data also.
