Odd front seat conversion

Hello all,

I have a 94 e series Timeless conversion in fantastic shape. It's my daily driver and I love it, except for one thing: the front drivers seat seems extraordinarily narrow and I am a larger fellow. It's usually no big deal as I only have a 5 minute drive to work, but everytime i spend all day running errands or whatnot, I feel it.

So I was looking to buy some larger (wider) front seats, you know, for the portly gentleman. Then it occurred to me that the box between the front seats is just a space to hold the obsolete TV/VCR.

Could I just remove that and replace the front seats with a bench seat? I mean, is that even feasible?

Show us a photo of your current front seats please-----that might be helpful.

Otherwise as-manufactured E-Series have two front seats that seem to fit most behinds. If the converter used another brand of seating to accommodate this box you mention that could be cause for your comfort.

The necessary location of the doghouse or engine cover pretty much rules out a bench seat. This is probably also a safety issue, no way to include an airbag or seat belt for such a front seat.

You may want to look for some seats out of a class C motorhome. My 95 Coachmen Leprechaun has very comfy seats that are fairly wide.
