Got to ask, anyone have any idea why my sub woofer won't work? Dealer is stumped. Dealer changed out the speaker and amp. They have been waiting on the Ford Hot line for over a week to get a direction and nothing yet. The speaker does move ever so slightly on highest level.

Any Ideas?
I did look at the fuse myself and its good.

No I have not heard from the dealership as of yet.
I have ruffly 3,500 miles i think.

 

How long should the technicians have to wait for the so called HOT line to respond?

Not so sure HOT is the appropriate term.

Went to dealer today and compared another truck same as mine and it too has very low base. They checked on the part numbers of my old truck to the new one and the amp part numbers are different.

So I guess Ford engineers lowered the out put of the amp to now there is hardly none unless you put the bass adjustment all the way to the highest setting to get some kind of base out of it.

I don't like the sound in the new truck at all. I had a old 1990's truck with a basic stereo and it sounded better than this one. Its a joke. very disappointed in Ford!

 

I actually think my Sony setup sounds pretty good in my 2016. I think it's better than my 2011 was. Has a good amount of bass also.

 

Amy 2013 sounded good but not so much in the 2015

 

my 16 lariat w/ Sony premium sounds real good and lots of bass. my bass setting is still at neutral also

 

Mine is all the way to the highest setting and still not much bass. I'm told there are different part numbers for the 13 to the 15s and now don't have hardly any bass. I'm not at all happy. I did listen to another 2016 and it sounded same. I can't believe Ford trashed the sound system in these trucks. I have an old reck of a stereo in and old beat up ford back in the 80s and sounds better than this 65,000 dollar truck. I put a formal complaint in to ford and as yet not heard from them and probably won't. I am so not happy!!!

 

Again, i have a 2016 and have plenty of bass. Im a former MECP Master Installer so im not just saying that. Yes, the volume doesnt get crazy loud, but the subwoofer provides noticable amounts of bass in my opinion. But, if the majority of the words in the songs you listen to are "BASS BASS BASS", then you will probably be disappointed. Just add a small amp and subwoofer. Easy fix and cheap to.

 

WI was just venting. I know you said yours has good bass and I sure do believe you. I just got frustrated and was in the moment. I'm going to check other trucks in the lot when I get the chance and see if they all have the same set up.
Maybe it's just me getting old and cranky.
