Unhappy 2007 Escape XLS - No front side marker lamps

Hi all...

Recently bought a 2007 Escape XLS...realized that the front side marker light/bulbs do not work at all (rear marker bulbs turn on with headlight switch)...though both front turn signals do work.

1st...checked the interior fuse for circuit - fuse good.

2nd...Took apart right wheel-well trim and replaced the 3157 Amber dual filament bulb thinking perhaps both marker filament had just burnt out over time. Unfortunately after the bulb change there was no change...turn signal filament works on both sides - front side marker filament(s) does not work.

Anyone have any ideas what I should do next...?

Thanks in advance...William

Are you referring to the parking lamps or the side markers (near back of fender)?

The front corner parking lamps - the amber 3157 bulb is dual filament - one for the front turn signal(s) - the other for the constant on parking lamp(s).

Those parking lamps are on the same (parallel) circuit as the adore-mentioned marker lamps. If the marker lamps work correctly, then the most logical reason is something is wrong with the bulb sockets or the bulbs themselves. Do the side markers work?

For background info - there are 3 wires going into the light socket - White w/light blue stripe (believe is turn signal positive) - Brown (which I believe is constant on lamps) - Black (I presume Ground).

Yes, I know what the wires are. That wasn't my question.

There are only 3 bulb assemblies in the front end of my 2007 Escape - 1) the headlight - 2) the high beam headlight - and 3) the amber 3157 dual filament bulb I am having the issue with...serving as the parking lamp/side marker light and the turn signal.

I apologize for my end-user lack of proper terminology...!

Okay, it looks like that side marker lamp is Mariner-only (which is what I have) and I was expecting the Escape to also have it. Sorry about my confusion.

The front parking lamp circuit comes from SJB connector C2280B Pin 8 (brown wire) via splice S118 which is located in the left front corner of the engine compartment near the BJB. The circuit is jumpered internally in the SJB to the rear parking lamp circuit which comes out on Pin 19 (same connector, also brown wire).

Thanks - that is helpful info.

There is a high power 40A fuse in the Power Distribution Box (#23) marked 'Rear defroster, Park Lamps relay'...do these ever burn out...?

Since the rear parking/taillamps come on constant when switched - only the front lamps do not work - where might the likely disconnect in the wiring for both front parking lamps.?

Thanks again...!

Where I stated. Anywhere from splice S118 to the internal connection in the SJB.

Would you disregard the suggestion that the green colored 40A fuse in the Power Distribution Box (#23) marked 'Rear defroster, Park Lamps relay' - could be the culprit...you are thinking a wire defect is ore likely then?

Yes, that is to be disregarded. It is not a possibility.
