my 88 7.3 F-superduty was $19,500. dealer gave me $11,000 trade in on the 86 F250 302 4 speed 4X4. i paid $9,000 for the 86, put 18,000 miles on it and rolled into the dealership after the cats plugged up and shut the engine off.
it currently has a little over 494,000 miles on it, and it has cost just about $35,000 to buy and modify over the years.

you just can't kill these old beasts!!!
yours stills looks in good shape. mine has lost the driver side rocker panel and 4 inches of the floor plus about 3-4 inches up of the "A" piller, and about 6 inches of the rear cab corner.
i have a new cab to put on it as soon as i get my legs rebuilt.
the bed fell off 3 years ago. i bought a very clean 87 F-150 that sat in a garage for 20 years. only had 17,000 miles on it, but it sat so long the engine seized.

Mechanically, mine is still pretty much original. I put new steering knuckles on a few years ago. It's been repainted more times than I can remember. The bed is newer, the original was going to cost too much to save. In fact its going into the shop next week for touch up. Its cool to have young guys at a gas station tell me its the best looking pickup in town. They're all hounding me to put a Dana 50 under the front end now.

You're right, of course it would be a 60. It's getting tougher to find a place that can do a front end alignment. I put new front springs in and the camber was way off. Had to drive an hour to a shop that had the different bushings and knew what to do. I really don't like someone else working on my vehicles that I don't know. I'm surprised there aren't any dedicated threads on the forum for doing the axle swap.

actually there are quite a few D-60 swap threads here.
it is really simple to do, it is a bolt in setup. the big thing to remember is that you need everything associated with the D-60 out of the F-350.
springs, pitman arm, full steering linkage, track bar and bracket. and the most important thing is the driver side u bolt bracket. they are NLA from ford and the people that have them for sale know it, and want gold for them.
