You might also look into the Early Ford V8 club in your area. The 3 speed you indicated was used in many different years up to our F1 in early 50'. Mac at van pelt has written a book to guide you through rebuilding your own.

Still need a 3 or 4 speed tranny
Needs to fit my 1950 Ford F1 V8 Flathead. The current one can be rebuilt but i need to drive this one (only makes a banging noise when it is in first gear). So if i can get a second one i can rebuild it while i'm still driving. Then when ready and can shut her down for a few days i can swap them out.
Currently its only a 3 speed, but would really like a 4 speed, so when I change out the rear end to a newer 9" i can hit higher speeds without losing so much top end power by shifting down.
Let me know if you can help me out, i would be willing to give you my 3 speed if you want, or cash.

I'm not sure if you're sure about what you're asking for. The 3 speed and 4 speed transmissions that came in our trucks are both a 1:1 final drive ratio. Nothing about your top end will change. The 4 speed only adds an extremely low 1st gear for easier take-offs when moving a heavy load, or for crawling along while working next to farm equipment. It's useless for normal driving, and you'll start in 2nd gear all the time, effectively leaving you with a 3 speed transmission.
The 3 speed transmission you have now has synchronizers on 2nd and 3rd gears, which makes it much easier to drive than the 4 speed without synchros, making it necessary to double clutch between shifts. You'll hate that if you're used to driving the 3 speed.
You may find it best to fix what you have. My 2c.

They are not that hard to overhaul. By the time you find one and get it shipped you would be far better off just fixing yours. What you get may be questionable. Like Ross says you should not be driving it anyhow.
