I've done prob a couple hundred IPR kits. The odds are with you guys,,, but at the end of the day,, there is a percentage of failures. I've had about 6. I have one right now that's leaking and I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm on the verge of having a freakin recall!!! Pulling intakes for free isn't fun. The lucky thing about ec1 coolant,,, if there is a leak,, it turns into red slime looking stuff that can help reseal itself. My ole grey was leaking,, I let it ride and all is well without replacing. Can you guys look at the flange and verify there's no coolant residue?? I'm actually asking,, not being sarcastic.

Unless BPD changed their design, no they won't.

Thanks for that info! So since I can't get the IPR to work with the BPD heavy duty air cool oil cooler kit what's my best option for a reliable EGR delete kit? Thanks!

After seeing Anthony's video and many recommendations, I bought the IPR delete and love it! But, it would have been nice to know that you have to pull the intake manifold. It seems like a good design. I had my blue hose leaking coolant pretty good, so it was a no brainer for me. Now I just need to find time to do studs.

I've got a couple more videos. It seems I'm the only one with them leaking. I did put two on today tho. I do a bunch of them. I have a bunch of them that I see leaking,,, but the customers weren't aware of it. A lil red residue trail is normally all it is. Doesn't hit the ground. I just took one tonight of one that is leaking through the casting. But I've been cutting and welding to the intakes to eliminate any leaks,,, so the fact that this one is bad,,, Fell on deaf ears cause they're my babies once I cut them.

Here's one I shot during an oil change last week. This one has been on for over a year,, iirc 50k mi

I'm gonna start taking videos of every one I see.

Anyone wanna snap pics of their IPR kits installed?? I've been seeing about 7%-10% failure rate. Which in my shop means I'm doing one for free every month or so. You all know it's cast aluminum? And a very poor quality of cast too. Especially lately. The newest one never made it to install,, I will upload it now and post it.

Here it is

If any of you have a delete handy,, check it out and see if it's pitted. I've been seeing a bunch of them pitted. This is the first one leaking this bad tho.

The 03 one I showed on an engine wasn't weld able because the cast material was not good enough. I've had 3 of them I had to scrap because they basically exploded when the torch touched them. We're very close to having actual billet pieces. They'd be too expensive to sell to anyone but at the shop tho. But I just need to make sure the ones I warranty,,, don't ever need a warranty. Freakin sick of crap!!!!

We even tried helium to weld one today. It was blowing out bad. The material is killing us. For now,,,,

I used the bpd cracked head epoxy and held the intake under vacuum and it pulled the epoxy into the holes, and appears to be holding. We are just dealing with it because the concept of that kit works!!!!

That's a good idea but I can't say as I've ever seen such porous alum. Very bad casting and prosses. Fingers crossed mine doesn't leak like that.

Yours has been on a while,, this one was straight out of the box leaking. I'd like to see pics of these installed on other peoples trucks. I've seen quite a few leaking at the intake coolant port. And not instantly,,, Last one I saw leaking was installed over a year ago. They didn't leak on the ground,, but we're leaving a red trail in the valley.

I did a Google search on these kits leaking,,, there aren't excessive failures,, but there are a few. I guess the movie phrase,,, "do you feel lucky?" Lol. I saw lots of remedies people used,, I remember something about dripping loctite in it???

I look at mine every now and then and haven't seen a leak. I still have gold in it so would not be as easy to see. I don't guess I'd like the loctite thing but a cnc piece out of bar stock would be the way to go or a proper casting process lol. Hopefully mine will be fine but I do like your intake piece if I get to that point.

I understand the reason for casting,, the two cornered passage would involve plugging a hole if it was billet. Which is what is on its way. It will Tig like a dream then. Lol. The intakes have not been an issue at all welding to btw,,,, As long as its prepped right
