I have a 1997 F250 5.8, so its Speed Density and OBDI. Unfortunately from what I've been reading with both of these it would be harder to bring the truck to mix fuel and air because its SD and not MAF. But, I've also been reading you could purchase a chip from some companies (Quarter Horse, TwEEcer, SCT) that will give the ability to tune, so fuel/air is all back to being well.

It's this whole tuning process that seems like it would be tricky since I don't have a real knowledge of what to look to buy, or even if these are good options to buy. I know some say MAF is a better option but really looking to keep the SD since I don't have any problems with it currently.

So would buying one of these chips give me the ability to bring it to a shop to have the truck tuned after installing a turbo?
