mass air conversion question
as far as heads go you really cant beat the price and performance of the trick flow "twisted wedge" heads. they are around 900$ and are aluminum. best out of box performance ive seen and you can run high lift cams because of the position of the valves. other heads need to be notched to run higher lift depending on valve events. as far as exhaust. i have the bassani headers and pipes. they perform and look awesome. and the fit is top notch. highly recommended.

Now you've got my attention.
For $1500, what are the bsst improvements I can make to my '91 5.0? Assume exhaust already done. I noticed that the trick flow aluminum heads are an option--but am concerned with heat since I'm pulling about 6500 pounds of trailer.
Need low and midrange torque, without sacrificing power (hopefully gaining some of that, too!)
Speak, oh wise ones.

mass air conversion question
Damn lightning guys....... My problem is I bought a 92 Mustang HO roller motor for my 91 Bronco because a so called expert(shame on me for not checking) told me it was a bolt it swap. Oh I forgot to mention it has a B303 cam in it. I have talked with Total performance and even with the Mass air kit this will not run in my E4OD trans Bronco, after talking with the guy who sold me the motor and having him tell me to take him to court, I am stuck with the motor. I bought a stock Mustang HO roller cam to change the B303 out and I am going to swap the motor soon. I was simply looking for a motor for my 91 Bronco and made a mistake of not knowing what I was looking for. I was going to change over to Mass Air but I did not really want to spend the 750-1000 for the conversion because I have to buy the Lightning kit to swap. I have found a way to do this without the kit but I need a 95 Bronco/F-150 with E4OD trans eec 4 module. When you call or look this module up there are quite a few listed and without having the old one no one knows which one applies. The truck came with headers and duals and other than a K&N I don't plan on any other mods. Whats your feeling on this, do you think it will work with the old speed density or should I continue to look for the Mass Air eec 4.

mike, since heat is a concern of yours then the aluminum heads would be a good choice. they dissapate heat much faster than iron castings. for 1500$ i would definitely get a set of heads and a good towing cam. most torque making cams are very tame and should work well with speed density. there are plenty of off the shelf cams to pick from. crane makes a lightning specific cam that is ground to work with speed density. the part# is 444232. it makes good torque and off idle power. should be good for towing. and if you want to spend a little exta $ then give terry at cam motion a call. tell him the heads you have chosen, and that you want a good towing cam that will work with your speed density. hes a mastermind. the custom flat tappet cam w/lifters will cost under 200$. so figure a set of heads, custom cam, all gaskets, pushrods and head bolts. youll be right at that 1500 limit. of course thats if you do the work yourself.
