Torpedo heater fuel

Thanks! Amazing, it started right up but I only ran for a short time as the air intake filter was all powder and I removed it. I'll have to find something to fit it. External thermostat still works also.

Go to your local CVS or Walgreens in the makeup aisle and buy the house brand facial cleaning "puff" (usually white). cut to size and spray a little WD40 on it. Works fine as an intake filter for a heater. Don't even wash it when it gets dirty, just can it and replace.

Hey welcome to FTE
Military uses JP8 for everything basically. I bet that's what they were discarding, or civilian JET A. It's a kerosene based fuel. Anything that can use kerosene will be happy.
Other stuff, not so much. When I was "stationed over there" once saw a new troopie trying to start a lawnmower near the company HQ. The 5 gallon can right next to it had "MOGAS" stenciled on it, but that doesn't mean much next to an airfield. Every possible container will eventually have old fuel samples in it if the regular ones don't get emptied, lol. I knew right away what had happened.
