Shift points with oversize tires.

I recently bought my truck with 37" tires. My speedometer was off by 5-6 mph's. I used my AE to recalibrate. I have noticed while driving on two lane roads with the average speeds of 45-60 mph, my transmission hunts for the right gear to be in. I can be in third at 55 mph at 1800 rpms. Tries to shift into OD but the least bit of incline it down shifts back to third. I am thinking this is due to the gear ratio change I am having due to the oversize tires. I have started to just hit the OD off button unless I am gonna be on highway. Anyone else experience this?
