block off fresh air vent outside of cab

I'm considering welding up the fresh air vent on the outside of the cab. I won't be using the air vents inside and there aren't any ac systems that use fresh air that I can find. It seems all the after market ac systems recirculate the air inside the cab. I also thought this might eliminate the corrosion issue with water getting trapped in the cowl. I'm just curious if any one has done this already?

I have AC in my truck, but there are still many times I drive with the vents open instead of running the AC. I like having them.
