What a day!

The hauler isn't ready, my truck isn't ready, I don't have the right equipment......

I spent $300 at Harbor Freight today buying just enough crap to make this happen. I should be able to get there and do the display, but I have no idea how I'm going to load the tires back up without a forklift. I'm actually a little mad at myself for not being better prepared.

Morning!

I've been busy taking stuff off the truck and am almost ready to start pulling the transmission and bell housing out. It won't be long before I have it swinging by a chain. I'm very worried about what I will find as I found metal chips in the old oil I drained right before I realized it needed more than an oil change.

It would be a good time for exhaust mods though.

According to the way the head pipes look, the efi is working properly and there's no sign of oil burning. At lest I was successful getting that to work.

Evening All!

The car lot had a pretty deep ditch by the road, and I took a heavy duty pallet with me and a couple sheets of plywood. I backed in to the ditch and laid the pallet and plywood on the bumper. It was a straight, flat shot to roll the tires back in to the bed. Whew! The rest of the stuff worked just fine.

The hauler needs some work, though. The alternator went out and I don't think the fan clutch works at all. I made it there and back, but if this was a gas engine, I would still be on the side of the road somewhere. Let's hear it for mechanical injected diesels!

Confession time...

Jesse was helping me wrangle the transmission out and down when it got away from both of us. He almost got clear of it, but it still caught the end of his middle finger - hard. I've spent all afternoon in the ER having it checked and stitched up. I'm feeling like the world's worst parent at the moment...

Moved Bandit into the garage after the Cadillac left.

What is an easy way to get the brass washer out of the bottom of the injector cylinder?

Up at 3:00 this morning with Jesse. The nerve block finally wore off and he was hurting pretty good. The ER doctor didn't give him anything for pain, but fortunately he had leftovers from having his wisdom teeth pulled earlier this summer. I tried to go back to sleep, but I think every muscle possible in both legs cramped up every time I tried.

Going to be a long day

Sorry to hear that Dave. That sounds like no fun at all.

Morning gents. Hope to finish off the last 4 injectors today in between football games. I really like having Bandit in the garage lol. That's where he will be until I get another daily driver.

Morning. The engine is out and on the stand.

I've dropped the oil pan and discovered the oil pump pickup full of old cam gear teeth. Poor old thing couldn't pull enough oil to keep everything happy. Main bearings have brass showing on all 7 but the crank journals all look healthy to me. I'll shoot some pictures later for other opinions.

Dave. At least you know what happened. That should be good to go with new bearings. Plasti-gauge it to be sure, though.

Tiff and I went to the craft fair in Ozark. It started out ok, but I was pretty sore by the time we got done. This colder weather is gonna kill me. We got a couple things while we were there.

We're supposed to decorate our yard for Halloween today, and I really should get to the shop, but I don't see that happening. I guess tomorrow is going to be an early day in the shop.

Well back home from a 2 day with the grandson at his house. We make almost $600 bucks at the city wide yard sale...we had ALOT of stuff to sale.

We have been busy all weekend, packing tots, bags, suit cases and tables, load my 16 ft trailer, drive there, set up and sale, sale, sale. All day sat, we were busy then we had to stay another night to hang out with the grandson.

Back to work tomorrow. Dave sorry to hear about your boys finger. Alan hope the show was good for business. RC get to work, lol. Jeff get them injectors done?

Rich, it was a paying gig, so I made a few hundred bucks to do the display. Finally, this big beast is starting to pay me back.
