She has a 390. Idles fine just no power. There wasn't any mud just some soft dirt.

Check over all your electrical connections and plugs going to the engine, maybe you stirred the gas tank up and it brought all the dirt from the bottom of tank and plugged up your fuel filters or pickup tube? Are you running the old points setup in the distributor? Check clearances and make sure you didn't burn them up.

Yeah i'm still running the original points system. I haven't cleaned out the gas tank yet. The last time i parked on a severe decline it did this same thing to me. Thank you i was starting to get worried especially after all the work i just got done doing. I haven't taken her out to play until now because iv'e been doing quite a bit of work to her lately.

After you were done beating it did it run fine for alittle while then start getting rough? Or was it immediately after you stopped beating it? Hopefully it's just an ignition or fuel issue. Slap a timing light on it and see if it stays or starts jumping all over the place.

I'm pretty much guessing the answer is "Well, it sounded good at the time".

So are you bragging that you were drunk driving, or is that somehow crucial to the story? Before you answer, keep in mind I was hit a few weeks back by a DUI enthusiast while I was test driving a customer's car. So you can guess my opinion of that sort of activity. Add onto that that you were bashing on an antique in a field, and you may not get a whole lot help here.

I think your truck knows better, should have flipped you over and out of it and ran your dumb *** over.
What did you do? You got drunk stupid, that's what you did.
The only fix for this is sobriety!! Obviously you can't handle your liquor.
No help here.
Sorry Moderators, but this one hit a nerve.
Been clean and sober since May 9th 1985

Hopefully he is just using the drunk part as a metaphor for how the truck is running...that is how I took it. Meaning he got the truck "a little drunk" by taking it to the field and it doesn't run right anymore.

Seems to me if it.is bogging then either getting too much fuel and not enough spark or not enough fuel and correct spark. Since you are still running points that would be the first place to start. I'd throw on a good condenser first and see what happens.

mjunk1, Lets hope that what he meant. My brother hydroplaned his truck off the road thru a tobacco plant bed, years ago and it cost just a little over $8000. Good thing he wasn't drinking.

ganstakr, my wake up date was in the fall of 1998 in Anchorage, Ak. And I sure don't miss waking up feeling like crap every morning.
