Turbo on a natural gas pulling rig.

I'm building a natural gas pulling rig using a 92 ford f-350 with a 460. I want to take full advantage of natural gases high octane rating of 125, so I'm going to put a turbo on it. I need some advice on what turbo to use. the specs I'm looking for is rpm range idle to 5000 with full boost at 2000 rpm. and boost of 15 psi with an air cooler. Its a pulling rig so the turbos durability is important as well. If any one could help Id be grateful.

Welcome to FTE.

NG and a turbo...you otherwise fooling with the motor? I don't think stock pistons are going to like all that.

This outfit may have what you need:

49090 Banks Powerpack Ford F53 7.5l 460 93-97 Drivers Side Exit

google "460 ford turbo kit". That was the first hit, with dozens of hits and you tube twin turbo this, big turbo that.

Goood luck with it.

Thanks.

yes I'm upgrading the rotating assembly including forged pistons I also am going to do a stage 1 port and polish on the heads.
I have been working with engines most my life but I'm just getting in to turbos so I have to learn about the tech aspect.

Another source of 460 fun and frolic, and a turbo build or two plus many serving suggestions for the 460 and beyond:

I wouldn't be surprised you could get away with stock rotating assembly and no intercooler at 15 lbs boost. I am trying 10 psi on propane. I ran 10 on a stock 92 350 on propane no intercooler. I guess that would depend on how much loaded you are as well. My 350 with a paxton at 10 lbs never pinged once and my buddies and I raced up long hill hauling 2 snowmobiles out to the mountains.
