lowering the rear end

Guys, I need help. First, I need to say my truck has a Chevrolet rear end so the clearance is a little different than stock. I installed the adjustable leaf spring connector to the front of the rear leaf strings and I installed the dropped connector to the back of the rear leaf spring.
It is still too high by about 1 1/2 ~ 2 inches. I have enough travel to drop here and not cause clearance problems. Can I take a leaf or two from the spring pack and achieve this?
If so, I assume it is just unclamping the pack and removing one or two. Will there be any need to get shorter pins or clamps that line all the leafs up?

Thanks

How many leaf springs are in each of your packs? Are the OEM style springs or GM springs?

They are Ford OEM original to the truck. I will have to count the number of springs in the pack. I think there are 7 if I remember correctly.
