New 1976 F250 Owner

Hello! Never owned a Ford and am still pretty novice with vehicles. I look forward to learning a lot from this site. I recently bought a 1976 F250 that I believe is a highboy. It has 4x4, 4 speed and a 390FE. I know it was originally a 360. It has a divorced transfer case with 3 drive shafts and the smaller width 9 leaf spring pack with an added 6 leaf spring pack on top of that. Never seen anything like it before.

The truck desperately needs new cab mounts, which I bought from LMC and rebought from Dennis Carpenter after reading some threads here. It also really needs some tires. I bought military surplus 37" tires that I thought would fit on the stock wheels but I keep reading conflicting reports. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks for having me. I look forward to lots of reading and posting up pictures of my progress.

Divorced case, 2.25" wide rear springs and 34" wide rear frame rails make it a highboy. I have seen military take offs on stock wheels but hear it take a bit of force. Good luck with it! Looks like a great start!

Yes it has the more narrow rear section of the frame. It's a hoot to drive with the manual steering and brakes.
