Seriously -- What is this thing?

Bottom right in the picture.

Looks like an upside down vagina, or a.... I don't even know.

Directly below the pull-out cup holder.

Thanks -- does anyone know of a way to remove it and make the space more useful?

Apparently I'm not the only one who can't figure it out...

Help! What is this on my Excursion /F250?? Lower dash thing! - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

I really doubt that it's .. That.

Manufacturers typically provide a small booklet that contains the various features and how they work and recommended maintenance intervals. Look in the glovebox for a small zippered case. Sometimes called "Operator's Manual".

I've tried hooking sunglasses to it, and that certainly doesn't work.

I just spent another 10 minutes staring at the picture and I can't come up with a worthy answer.

Plastic bags are illegal in the state that I live in. Yes I am serious. When you buy things in stores, you get a paper bag or nothing. No plastic bags -- so if the unit is indeed a plastic bag holder, I'd like to swap it out for something more useful.

Panty hook was the best explanation I've seen for it.

In all seriousness, it's supposed to be a garbage bag hook.

It holds a grey ford garbage bag. Lady at my work still has it hanging there.

Screw holes to fasten it? My e99 is without and I feel so lost without one. I figured it was a purse hanger.

If you ordered the Vehicle, you had a choice of an Ash Tray in lieu of the Multi-purpose Hangar.

Too bad it isn't the parchment color, I would trade/buy it off from you if you wanted. I have the ash tray and would prefer the bag holder by far.

There is a classic dealership service story about that. Lady kept complaining her new car ran rough all the time. Kept bringing it in, dealer could not reproduce it or find anything wrong. Finally, they went with her on a test drive.

First thing she did after getting in, was pull the choke out and hang her purse on it. Problem solved!

If my co worker brings her truck in tomorrow I will take a pic of the bag
