F2 to F1 Conversion?

New fenders, new frame (or shorten what you have to an F-1 wheelbase somehow), new suspension, new transmission, new bed, new wheels, and new running boards to begin the discussion right off the top of my head. I'm sure the others will chime in with even more details. Also don't forget a new rear differential and drive shaft. Did I mention new suspension in the front and rear?

There are members who have done it, and can guide you through the biggest of the issues - the frame shortening. There's no avoiding the truth, however, that it's easier and cheaper to start with an F-1. If you've found a nice F-2 you might be ahead to buy it then flip it to one of us guys that actually prefer the unique features of the bigger models. Then use the money to buy your F-1. Stu

As you can see from the responses, it's almost easier to say what doesn't need to be changed. F2's have heavier suspension, longer frame and wheelbase, different sized wheel openings, etc. About the only things that are the same is the cab, doors, hood and grille.
