Gauge of wire from fender solenoid to starter
Hey guys. I recently installed a new starter/fender solenoid and also had to replace the cables from the battery to all of this.
The truck was starting fine after I did the work but then in the next week or so I had an occasional hard click at the solenoid and no attempt to start. Then I turn the key again and maybe a click, maybe she fires right up.
I put a multimeter on the solenoid with my wife turning the key and I always get my 12v at the end of the solenoid going down to the starter but occasionally she doesn't start up anyway.
When I I replaced the cabled I noticed that the gauge of the wire going from the solenoid to the starter was much smaller on the new set of cables. I was thinking this may be the problem. Does anyone know what gauge was standard for that run originally? I have already tossed my old cables and can't check. Thanks!
