Wicked Wheel 2 - results

I haven't seen a thread on results after a WW2 install other than those that were written right after installing it. I put mine in Tuesday and immediately noticed a 6PSI boost gain and faster spoolup. I've had a couple of short towing trips since then (about 30 miles round trip) and have noticed my EGT's are about 300* lower on these, along with the truck just feeling steadier in acceleration and cruising.

I did do a couple of other things that have probably helped with the EGT;s as well (EBPV delete with new pedestal and exhaust port, AIH delete and foil delete) but I don't think they can account for all of it.

This evening I've got a 270 mile, 4.5 hour trip with the tractor, disk, box blade and all the normal people stuff so about 8,000 pounds with the trailer and load so I'll really get a feel for how much of a difference the changes have made. I'm hoping to see a little better than the 9.5 - 10MPG I normally get on this trip (I cruise at 80, I could get better mileage if I dropped back to 65 or 70 but it's against my nature) and there are some hills where my EGT's have historically climbed to 1300 if I'm not careful so I'm looking forward to seeing how those go.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Yes, I have PHP and use the Tow 60 with this load.

Truck has 6637 and MBRP 4" Turbo Back so it breathes pretty well. I'm probably going to go ahead and get a ported turbo housing for it as well.

I don't know about the WW2, but a 1st gen WW and a ported housing supposedly was a bit overwhelming in the whistle department. 6psi and 300degree drop is HUGE.

You can definitely hear it, I think it's a little louder than the Banks wheel I was running before. I like to be able to hear the turbo though. I've also got a Pioneer NEX 4100 with a pair of 12" woofers, a 1200W amp and a separate 400W amp for my other 4 speakers so I can drown the turbo out if I want to...

Hope to be on the road shortly, just waiting on the wife...

8000 pounds at 80 miles an hour? Must be hard on the trailer tires.

So overall, I'm impressed with the wheel. I saw 3 to 4 pounds of boost above where I normally have been at cruise and EGT's stayed about 200 below what they typically have been. I could push the truck hard and get them to really climb but driving the way I normally do, they stayed at 1200 or below. My only real complaint is that the truck is pulling this load so easily now that it's wanting to run at 85 which kills my mileage. I tried not to run that fast but it kept just creeping get up without me really noticing.

If you're on the fence about maybe getting good this wheel, I'd say do it.

As far as me being hard on trailer tires, my trailer has 2 5200# axles with load range E radial tires. They don't last quite as long as the truck tires but they last long enough. When I'm headed to the ranch, I just want to get here, if I have to buy tires sooner than if I took 5 hours to get here instead of 4 to 4.5, it's worth it to me. I can make more money to buy tires, I can't make, or buy, more time at the ranch.
