F1 Seat upholstery

Has any one upholstered their seat on a F1 Pickup ?
I have a kit to reupholster the truck seat. And for the
life of me can't figure out how the hog rings hook on
the bottom front of the seat. There is a flat bar on the bottom
with a piece of what looks like leather around the back.
Looks like the factory hooked with single holes in the leather.
The hog rings have no where to hook.
Is a great kit made by Seatz bought at Raybuck
I've been talking with them but no one seems to know
about early Fords.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I've been fighting this for two weeks.
I'm off to Lowe's. They must be very short.
Any measurement on the ones you used?

honestly i used an electric staple gun with 3/8" or 5/16" staples. the tacs are pretty short, under 1/2"

I didn't use the tacks at all. I bought my cover from raybuck and there was enough material to just pull it in and hog ring it. I have to admit, seat covering is out of m area of expertise.

Home upholstery job.

Fabric pulled tight and hog ringed.
