Museum quality EX - what's it worth?
I am toying with the idea of thinning my personal vehicle collection and selling my Excursion. I am simply just testing the waters at this time. Here is what I have... I know this might be hard to believe, but it's true!
Thanks!
Steve
- 2000 Excursion
- 4x4
- 7.3
- All options, all original
- 22,558 original miles (yes, twenty two thousand five hundred fifty eight)
- Towels always on seats and on top of factory floor mats from the moment it was purchased.
- Only one time has anyone even sat in the third row seat
- Hardly ever spent a night outside
- Always, always garaged
- **Never driven in the rain *** (That takes careful planning!!)
- Replacement Bridgestone tires installed under recall at 9K miles due to original Firestone 'peel and flip' tires
- Only one small warranty issue with back-up sensors and cam position sensor replaced
- Never off road, except a sandy Texas beach, but only twice.
- Undercarriage is as new, due to never driven in rain (original chalk marks, paper stickers on everything - just the way it rolled off the assembly line).
- All original paperwork, window sticker, and I saved all plastic wrapping from factory.
- Still has that new car smell inside.
- No dings, no chips, no marks, It's perfect!
- Always serviced by me (oil, filters, grease, etc.)
- How can I make the above claims? I bought this Excursion new in August, 2000 and have only used it as a toy, never as a daily driver.
- I'm a car freak and this vehicle has had my personal care and attention for 15 years.
- I seriously doubt you will ever find an original 7.3, 4x4 Excursion this nice.
Thanks!

"A lot" - Nate
These are the types of excursions you see go for stupid amounts of money. Hard to put a price on it when you have people out there that will pay way above what would be considered by most to be "reasonable".
I would imagine you would be getting over 30k. For contrast my Excursion was brought up from Texas in 2010 with ~20k miles. It however had sat in the sun, resulting in less than optimal leather seats that had baked and a rusted out turbo due to sitting.
I believe they payed about 30k at that time.
EB fully loaded 6.0. I, in conjunction with road salt, have significantly lowered its value since I bought it from them.
Good luck with your sale!

Guys - thank you for all of your input; it's truly appreciated. I know it's crazy, but I've only had my driver's window down to pay tolls, and if possible I pull forward enough to open the door, not power the windows down. I don't believe the other three power windows have been down, although I have had the rear quarter windows open a time or two. I admit, I am weird with all my vehicles. Anyone that knows me, know that.
I'm brand new to this forum, so not proficient loading pics. I will work on loading some pics, just so you know this isn't b.s.!

I don't know guys--did you see that rusty bolt on the oil pan??!!!!!! Kinda blew it for me.
I guess one thing you'll have to consider is the amount of modifications they all needed off the assembly line to keep them from wandering down the road. I would agree with the ebay route just set your reserve carefully. There always seems to be resistance on that age vehicle going from the 20k's to the 30k's. Im thinking 28 to 30k but the guys are right, you might get a guy (or gal) to plop for 40 or 50k. If you list it on eBay, let us know. It would be interesting to watch

In 22K miles you have changed the Oil/Filter 4 times (hardly an accomplishment).
Tags on driveshaft (a few more miles)

As Watcher mentioned, from factory these vehicles need mods/upgrades.
16 year old vehicles also need belts, hoses etc.
Non-use is sometimes as bad as abuse. Most vehicles don't appreciate in value until 20-25 years.
Good luck in your endeavors.
