servicing the manual hubs

how often does a guy need to take the manual hubs apart and clean them? I have a 2013 F250 with 26k on it and it has the manual/free hubs. The dials turn fine, I was just wondering if there is a time frame they need to be serviced at. The last truck I had that had actual mechanical hubs was my '89 ranger with the auto hubs and if they weren't cleaned at least once a year they would start giving me trouble.

Do them at 60K. That is what I did with mine.

If you use the 4x4 system right along there they will be fine.

If you don't then once a month lock the hubs and run them for at least 10 miles or so the keep them working right.

thanks senix. I don't use the 4wd a lot but I do lock the hubs in once a month and drie it for 15-20 miles.
