I have a 51 F2 that needs some seat support on the drivers side and also new seat cover. I received from LeBaron Bonney a sample they say is for a 51 and it is deep brown. I have a book by Don Bunn and he has a great picture of a 51 F2 with a light brown mix of brown colors.
Does anyone have a picture of light brown vinyl seat or a color number and supplier of the material?

I am not sure how "correct" the color is but i ordered the only brown option for seat cover from Macs. the product line is cartouche and its made in newyork. i didnt have too much of the original cover to compare to but the color looks pretty good to me. it does have some dark to light variation in the vinyl.

 

The original covering I removed was a shade or two lighter than the Mac's version. The Dennis Carpenter headliner also is a shade different - seems lighter. So, matching colors isn't possible, in my view.

 

This is a tough one I was taking the picture in the Don Bunn book as the correct color. I will be going up past LeBaron Bonney next week on my way to Maine. I will bring the picture from 96XL and the book and see what they say. They told me they make the headliner and side pieces to order so I should be able to get a close match.

The problem with using Don Bunn's book as a guide is the fact that the trucks in his book are not Dearborn restorations, so you can't count on all of the items being accurate to original.

 

When I did mine I took it to a upholstery shop and told him I wanted it to match original.......he did an excellent job, that was 20 years ago and still looking good

I am going to remove the original sides piece under the rear window and take it to LeBaron Bonney see what they say. Thanks for all your input. I will let you know how I make out with a picture of my selection.
