1985 F150 302 EFI - I've got a ground strap mounted high on the firewall (passenger side) out of reach of anything (it's about 10 inches long). What is it supposed to be connected to?

You have always been right in your answers! But, am I to run a line from the ground strap to the engine manifold? It hardly makes sense they'd give me a 10 inch ground strap, locate it high on the passenger side firewall, and then have me need to run a line to it so it can reach the engine. Get my drift?

 

<p>Oh oh oh oh... I'll bet it's to the hood..... it's a different ground strap than the one for engine to firewall....</p>

 

Yes. That's what I thought too. But why to the hood from the firewall?

 

<p>The hood is a ground plane for the radio antenna.</p>
