Did the full size Broncos ever come with the 4.9L straight 6 engine? I can't seem to remember ever seeing one with that engine.

 

300 I-6 (4.9L): 1980/96.

 

Sure did. Had a some friends that had that combo

 

Wasn't the I6 only in the Bronco until 92? 93 - 96 was only V8s. The F-trucks still had the 6 though.



Either way, I have two Broncos with stock 300 engines.

 

Real good combo when paired with a manual transmission. That's the only way all my friends would buy them. Must of heard a 1,000 times it's the same set-up as the UPS trucks. Also made driving the ALCAN each summer a little less worrysome in between gas stations. I'm sure automatics are fine too but a new clutch was a lot cheaper than a new tranny.
