1948 - 1952 - 1956 Ford Panel truck headliner bows

After getting a request last month, I worked on developing a headliner bow kit the last few weeks, that will allow installation of a full length fabric headliner in the 48 - 52 Ford Panel trucks. Soon to make one for 1953 - 1956, It's designed to pass through to the front area, flush with the dome light brace, so there will be no sign of the brace showing through, and when the dome light is installed, it will be flush, and hopefully will look as if it was a factory design. It is unlike the Ranger partial rear section fabric design, with the original cardboard front section. The rear side wood pieces shown here were only for mock up, and are oversize. Rods Interiors is doing the first one, and I'm hoping to get some pics of it all done to post soon.

Looks very nice. Look forward to seeing the finished result. Just curious why do you need the wood strips especially in the rear section? Could you not attach to the metal strip above it?

The bows for the Ranger are higher and do attach up there on the metal, but the headliner then has to jut down to meet the dome light brace. Then, it is finished off with the original type cardboard from there forward. For the full length fabric, or canvas headliner this kit is for, I had to make a totally different bender, different bows. The shape of the dome light roof brace it needs to clear, won't allow it to be that high, esp when using a 1/2 to 5/8 bow pocket stitched into the headliner. The wood you see is oversize for this mock up, but the wood is also needed to tack down the edges of the headliner, and to attach the top edges of the large interior side panels that will be added over it... Thanks, Mark
