T18 close ratio gears

Did not find this question asked before. I know the T18 came with close ratio 4:02/2.41/1.41/1.0 gears and it was used in various other makes of vehicles besides Ford. I have spent about 3 days on the phone and researching on the net and have not found a T18 with these or the gears to rebuild mine with. For some reason they are not easy too find.

Is there a cross reference I can use to find the parts between makes? Has anyone ever done this? I realize most would rather have the granny gear but the other gears are way too far apart for the mountains around here and I like to downshift slowing the vehicle down especially when pulling a load.

I found a T19A with the correct gears but won't work with the TC.

Are you sure you have a close ratio T18?
I've never seen one listed for Ford, and after some searches on the net, I still haven't found any reference to one. The close ratio was put in jeeps and stuff, but not Ford (according to what I can find). The Ford's always got the deep granny 6.32 1st.

No I do not have a close ratio but do want. The first gear input shaft is "elusive" if I use a suppliers actual words. Ford did use but rarely so is difficult to find. If I could find a larger input shaft (the 4:02) used in another make I would have it machined down to my requirements, I guess more research is in need.

Thanks for the reply

Oh okay, that makes sense. I misunderstood. I thought you were trying to repair yours.
Sorry I can't help you with more info. Good luck!
I can see a close ratio being useful if you never need the granny. Makes for a nicer daily driver, due to having 4 gears you can use daily, instead of 3.

I would suggest contacting Advance Adaptors or another of the same kind of supplier and see if they have the parts you need or suggestions of where to get them. Good luck.
