Lost compression on #8 at 207181miles. Before that, fan clutch (warranty), idler pulleys other minor stuff. Deleted at 98k, thermostats/ belts around 125k, brakes around 135k, hubs around 180k. Was daily driver/fiver tow. Replaced with identical '10 with 62900miles on it. Now running well at 72000 and fully deleted.

2008, 182,500 miles.
Broken rocker arm, broken lifter, wiped out cam, front cover, dent in big end of 1 rod and piston caused by axle of lifter.

This all happened BEFORE I bought it. Got a good deal on it and ended up rebuilding the engine.

New International pistons
New main and rod bearings
New front cover/oil pump
New Colt Cams stage 1 reground cam
ARP head studs
Ford head gaskets
New fuel lines
All new gaskets

210,000 kms. Besides the normal oil changes and batteries and etc, Ive had my backup camera screen in the rear view mirror turn blue. Also have issues keeping my dashdaq mounted as the high priced two way 3m tape i buy doesnt want to stick to the dash. Thats been the extent of my issues so far.

Thought I had an issue with my tuner once but it turned out it was just me.

Traded in my first 6.4 after 3 radiators, 1 ps pump, 1 steering gear box, 2 oil leaks, multiple reflashes to fix regen issues, complete repaint under warranty, and a trans that would ghost shift just for fun.

Hoping the one I just bought is a better truck.

2008 Ford F350 6.4L Power Stroke Diesel is junk

At 67,594 miles my 2008 Ford F350 6.4 diesel has broke down once again. This time, after taking it to the dealership for the 3rd time, they said my problem is metal shavings and rust in my fuel filter for not changing my fuel filter or draining the separator enough. I do this maintenance every 5,000 miles, which is what they said to do. I paid for the extended, extended warranty however the Ford dealership won't cover it under warranty. I had to have the whole fuel system replaced. $11,000 out of my pocket because Ford's diesel trucks can not handle using diesel fuel. Now, 3 months later, less than 3,000 miles since I have had the whole system replaced, the truck breaks down again. I take it to Ford and again they say there is metal in the fuel system. In addition, I just had the oil changed, water separator drained and fuel filters changed again, 200 miles before it broke down again and only 1,200 miles after it was replaced while Ford had it. This sounds like a manufacture defect and we are being screwed. I want my money back and I want it fixed right. A truck with only 67,594 miles should not be having $11,000 worth of repairs. Ford is not Built Tuff like they claim. The sad thing is, is that my back up vehicle for work, which never breaks down, is my wife's 2005 Chrysler Town n Country mini van with 267,000 miles. What can I do to get this problem resolved? Do I need a lawyer? Is there anyone else out there that will join my lawsuit?

So you got bad fuel, or you have junk in your tank still from bad fuel and that's Fords fault? Since there are hundreds of thousands of these trucks out there going just fine, I'm thinking you are SOL...

My truck turned 160,000 miles this week. 38,000 were put on by me. Deleted by a friend when I got it. Changed oil and fuel filters as needed. No other issues.

Oh, and I was told yesterday that 6.4's are junk by some guys that work on them in ambulances. I must admit, the stuff they have to do with them, this would not be my choice of motor. But it suits me just fine for what I do. You must drive these trucks to keep them in good working order.

Haha. No Chebby here. Still have the 6.4. Work and family took over my life. I was still lurking in the 6.4 forum occasionally.
