2004 F-350 6.0 transmittion twitchy in idle
Hello all, I am new to the forum...I just pruchased 2004 F-350 6.0 102000 miles, truck runs great, shifts solid, but tranny seems twitchy or jerky in idle, no grinding, or clucking, seems to occure in rev and drive....once i accelirate it stops....havent droped pan yet but planning on it..fluid temps mid range, analog guage...fluid appears normal not burnt..
Any thoughts would be appreaciated, mecanical verses electrical..from what i understand transmittion is mostly elecrical in nature..
Thank You
Bill

I've never seen a transmission that is twitchy or jerky at idle. I've seen many, many, many engines that are twitchy or jerky at idle.
The fluid temps will be mid range on the stock gauge when the trans is warmer than 50F and colder than 230F.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the transmission. The transmission is fully electronically controlled, but there are a lot of mechanical pieces in the transmission.
